When Pierre DURET, winegrower in Quincy, sold his estate to Joseph MELLOT in 1995, it was to pass on not only his vineyard but also his know-how as both Winery Owners had been sharing their common wine passion for many years.
The Quincy appellation is the birthplace of Sauvignon Blanc, its unique grape variety. This king varietal finds its most beautiful expressions and optimal maturity in Pierre DURET Estate vineyards, allowing a unique terroir to be translated into a unique wine. Beneath its pale yellow robe, it perfectly reveals the elegance and typicity of Sauvignon Blanc.
Pierre DURET Estate vineyards are located on a old plateau of the Cher river, well exposed, their sandy and gravelly soils warm up quickly. The 14 hectares of vines are managed in an integrated way, with great respect for their environment and terroirs. Thanks to our strong commitment towards a sustainable viticulture, Pierre DURET Estate obtained its High Environmental Value Certification (HVE) in 2019, validating our respectful and qualitative approach.
