Staying at the Gîte de la Châtellenie, under the aegis of Maison Joseph MELLOT, means living at the pace of a winegrower’s business, with respect for nature and tradition.
During your visit, we suggest you start with our historic cellar, a place steeped in history, located on the hillside of Sancerre. Here, you’ll discover the secrets behind the vinification of our estate’s four premium cuvées. These cuvées are vinified in French oak barrels on 3 levels.
Feeling peckish? Our restaurant, l’Auberge Joseph Mellot, is just a few steps from our cellar! Enjoy a meal prepared by our Chef, accompanied by one of our vintages.
Continue your visit to Sancerre by heading back down the Piton towards the vineyards, where breathtaking scenery awaits you… and our winery too! There, you’ll be welcomed into our cellar, where you can enjoy a complimentary wine tasting with commentary.
Is the winery too far for you? We’ve got the solution! Right next to our restaurant, you’ll find our boutique where you can find wines and other delicacies. Tastings are also available!
The 120 m² gîte is equipped for 9 people, furnished just like home. On the first floor
you’ll find the entrance hall, a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer, a
fully equipped kitchen with oven, micro-wave oven, fridge and freezer. refrigerator
(with freezer compartment…), four bedrooms (including a master suite), two
bathrooms.
On the second floor, a shower room and three bedrooms, two with double beds (160
and 140) and in the third bedroom you’ll find three single beds (90).
Bed linen, towels and crib available on request.
The gîte is also equipped with TV and wifi.
Nearby there are several parking spaces, shops and restaurants of all types, so there’s no need to worry about getting around.
